How to get to Temple University

Via Subway

  1. The Hotel is located at 17th and Locust. Exit into 17th Street.
  2. Walk one block to your left (north). You should meet Walnut Street.
  3. Make a right turn on Walnut and continue three blocks to Broad Street.
  4. On Broad Street, there is ``Walnut-Locust Station'' for the Orange line subway.
  5. If you buy two or more tokens at the same time, there is a discount ($1.25 per token instead of $1.60).
  6. Take a LOCAL train in the direction of ``Fern Rock''. (Be sure it is the LOCAL, otherwise, the train does not stop at Temple University.)
  7. Take off the train at ``Cecil B. Moore (Temple University, also known as Columbia)'' station. The intermediate stops are ``City Hall'', ``Race-Vine'', ``Spring Garden'', ``Fairmount'' and ``Girard.''
  8. Upon the exit of the subway station, you should be on Broad Street. Continue to the north until you see Mitten Hall on your right.
  9. Make a right turn and walk until the stop sign on 13th Street. Turn to your right and you will see Tuttleman Learning Center on your left across the street.
  10. From the ``Walnut-Locust Station'' to the ``Temple University'' station, it takes about 5 minutes and another 7 minutes' walk to Tuttleman Learning Center.

Via Bus

  1. The Hotel is located at 17th and Locust. Exit into 17th Street.
  2. Walk four blocks to your left (north). You should meet Market Street. The intermediate streets are Walnut, Sansom and Chestnut.
  3. Turn to your right and walk two blocks to get to 15th street.
  4. Take ``C'' bus at the corner of 15th and Market.
  5. Take off at the Temple University in front of Mitten Hall. That's the second stop after Cecil B. Moore Street where ``Temple University'' subway station is located.
  6. Make a right turn and walk until the stop sign on 13th Street. Turn to your right and you will see Tuttleman Learning Center on your left across the street.
  7. From the bus station at 15th and Market to Temple University, it takes about 10 minutes and another 4 minutes' walk to Tuttleman Learning Center.

From the Airport

  1. Take R1 to the Center City. The fare is $5.00. Tickets can be purchased at the automatic vending machines just before exiting to the flatform or once on the train from the conductor. This train stops at Temple University. Intermeate stations are ``University City'', ``30th Street Station'', ``Suburban Station'' and ``Market East''.
  2. Upon the exit of the ``Temple University'' station, you should be on Berks Street. Take your right towards ``Temple University''.
  3. Walk about 10 minutes, crossing 10th, 11th and 12th Street. You will see ``Bell Tower''. Right to ``Bell Tower'' is ``Paley Library''.
  4. Go past the library and turn to your left on 13th Street. The first entrance to your left is the Tuttleman Learning Center.
  5. From the airport to Temple University, it will take about 25 minutes and another 5 minutes' walk to Tuttleman Learning Center.

From the Amtrak Station

  1. The Amtrak station is connected to the ``30th Street Station''. From the ``30th Street Station'', you can take practically any Regional Line (R1 to R8) to ``Center City''. Be careful NOT to take one going to the suburbs of Philadelphia. Tickets SHOULD BE bought before getting on the train. You can ask the ticket office which way is to Temple University.
  2. Take off at ``Temple University'' station. Intermediate stations are ``Suburban Station'' and ``Market East''.
  3. Upon the exit of the ``Temple University'' station, you should be on Berks Street. Take your right towards ``Temple University''.
  4. Walk about 10 minutes, crossing 10th, 11th and 12th Street. You will see ``Bell Tower''. Right to ``Bell Tower'' is ``Paley Library''.
